The Unspeciated Suite of Apps:
From Anthropocentric to Relational AI-Species Communication
What if the barrier to communicating with other species isn't our ability to “decode” their language—but our way of relating to interspecies intelligence?
For over two decades, I've practiced and facilitated interspecies communication through integrating the mind through presence, through the heart. What I've learned is simple: we already have the capacity to connect with other species. The barrier isn't technological—it's perceptual.
Now, as AI research accelerates toward "decoding animal language," I'm proposing a different question:
What if AI could help humanity expand our awareness rather than replace the need for it?
December 6-7, Kerri has the opportunity to present a poster for her paper titled: Redefining Intelligence: From Anthropocentric to Relational AI Species Communication.
NeurIPS is one of the largest machine learning conferences in existence. AI for animal communication is a growing field - conservation, animal rights, technology ethics and what it is to be human all intersect in this field. Over the past 15 years, the work Kerri’s sharing in this context has been developing in the background.
Once AI was actually a tool available for her to use, she went to work articulating the perspective she calls “Unspeciated” through the writing in this paper, the accompanying poster, and the 5 functioning apps, the “Unspeciated Suite” of apps.
While this poster presentation is just the beginning, the feedback is already very heartening that Kerri’s voice, thought leadership and facilitation are recognized as valuable.
